There are so many hiking trails in the surrounding mountains where you can do short walks and 1/2 and full day excursions. There are many apps you can download on your phone that work well. Our favorite is one called All Trails.
There is one private trail not on the apps that is a fun hike you can do right form the property. Note it is a gradual clime to a summit (~800 ft elevation) over gravel fire road and may be hard for elderly or health compromised individuals.
Walk out of the driveway and towards the mail boxes you passed on your way in. Just before the interception marked by the mailboxes you will turn right and cut through a grass field and you will then see a trail that heads toward the cove. head down the trail and turn left up the hill where the trail merges with another. then cross road and pass through two white posts and then continue up the hill to the summit where you will see a breathtaking view of the lake and beaver islands. If you encounter others who inquire who you are, mention you are staying at 48 little road across the cove.
